Meet Laura Simms, who lives in the Levenshulme area of Manchester. Laura was referred to Uncle Joe by Naomi. Actually Naomi had only heard about Uncle Joe from Rosie who had just passed her test with Uncle Joe. Laura came to Uncle Joe with no driving experience whatsoever and it was going to be a humble beginning. Just like any other student, learning a new skill can be very daunting. Laura gradually picked up the confidence that helped shaped her driving skills and made steady progress all the way. I could not be any less proud of you Laura. Not only did Laura passed her practical test, Laura went on the Pass Plus Scheme which helped consolidate her previous driving skills and made her prepared for life on the Motorway. Congratulations once again Laura wishing you a life time of safe driving take care and wish you all the best. Naomi has since started her refresher course by the way and she ‘s loving it!  Here is what Laura had to say for both stints she had with Uncle Joe:

I was recommended Uncle Joe through a friend of a friend. I found the prospect of learning to drive really daunting but he made me feel relaxed straight away. Joe not only helped me learn at my own pace but knew when to challenge me, which is rare and a trait of an excellent teacher. In an early lesson I burst a tyre but he remained calm, helped me understand what happened and I learnt how to change a tyre! He is a very thorough, understanding and passionate tutor, and I have really enjoyed learning to drive. It took less than four months to learn and pass my test. I’ve recommended him to friends and family who want to learn to drive. I passed second time with just two minors and am looking forward to taking the Pass Plus with Joe very soon.

I took the Pass Plus over a series of three lessons a few weeks after I
passed my test. One session was my first time on a motorway and I’m pleased
I had someone there to help put me at ease and get used to such a fast pace.
I strongly recommend doing the course as it really helps build your
confidence on the road. I drove on the infamous Snake Pass and really
enjoyed it. At the end of the last lesson I drove on my own for the first
time and felt well prepared to deal with many types of road and situations
including a five hour drive two days after my last lesson. Thank you Joe for
