Meet Mathi, A post graduate student here at the University in Manchester. Mathi came to Uncle Joe on the back of unsuccessful attempts at the practical driving test. Mathi got in touch with me and we arranged for a initial assessment drive. During the drive I discovered Mathi was actually a decent driver, had a good road sense, perhaps most important feature of Mathi’s drive was his safety approach. You would have wondered what was the reason behind Mathi’s failed attempts previously before contacting Uncle Joe. Well there was an obvious salient reason. Mathi needed to overcome himself to believe he could drive. Hence I suggested a carefully but well structured plan for Mathi, which would gradually help Mathi to overcome nerves and anxiety. We worked together through this rather painstaking phase and on the 10th of March at the West Didsbury Test Centre, Mathi overcame his fears, nerves and anxiety by passing his practical driving test. Joe is an amazing instructor! I suffer from anxiety and after previous failed tests with other driving instructors I was beginning to lose my confidence in myself. I started lessons with Joe and he built up and restored my confidence. You will find he does talk a lot but he talks a lot of sense! He is straight to the point but his lessons are also really fun and lessons for life, not just driving. Even at times when I got really nervous towards the test he was able to point me in the right direction with clear advice and some good humour to help me keep calm, make me believe in my ability and also keep faith in not giving up. Definitely the best driving instructor I’ve had and I highly recommend him. Thanks Joe so much!
