Meet a lovely lady called Sarah, Sarah lives in the Levenshulme area of Manchester with Mark. Sarah got in touch with Uncle Joe after requesting on Levenshulme Facebook page for a recommended driving instructor, little did I know that I got all the votes from Levenshulme. Great! so came Sarah and from the very first lesson to the last lesson even shortly before Sarah’s test if I want to be honest, we spent more time laughing. Really? yes we did only because Sarah needed it to help her overcome nerves. Hence the adaptation to Sarah’s needs. I had to vary the teaching style to help bring out the best in her. Lessons picked up and gradually confidence building went on until we came to the test day: 19th May 2014 at the West Didsbury Driving Test Centre. Sarah passed her test on her very first attempt! Well done to you Sarah. I cannot be any less proud of you. Wish you all the best. Here is Sarah’s version of events from her experience with Uncle Joe:

“When I started looking for a driving instructor after a long break from learning to drive my top priority was to find an instructor who was patient and easy-going. I asked Levenshulme’s facebook group for advice and Uncle Joe got the most votes! When I started our lessons I understood why! Joe’s teaching style is very laid back and this suited me perfectly; sometimes I wondered if we were working hard enough because we seemed to spend so much time laughing! I was initially very nervous about starting lessons again but Joe let me learn at my own pace and helped me build my confidence. He broke down manoeuvres into simple fail-proof steps and built up a solid familiarity with the test routes so that on the day my nerves were minimal. I feel like Joe understood me as an individual and tailored our lessons around my learning style; the relaxed atmosphere in the car helped me assimilate my learning and correct my mistakes.”
